Womack Announces New Budget Committee Republican Staff Director

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Steve Womack (R-AR), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, today named Becky Relic the Committee’s Republican Staff Director. Relic currently serves as the Committee’s Republican Deputy Staff Director. Before joining the Committee, she gained experience at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and in the private sector. Relic will assume the new role on January 13th.

The current Staff Director, Dan Keniry, is leaving the Committee to pursue an opportunity in the private sector. In making the announcement, Ranking Member Womack said:

“I have been pleased to rely on Dan’s advice over the last two years as I chaired the Committee, led the Joint Select Committee on Budget and Appropriations Process Reform, and transitioned to the role of Ranking Member. Dan has been a tremendous help to me, and I have been very impressed with his leadership of the dedicated professionals on the GOP Budget staff. I wish him all the best.

“I am proud that Becky will step into the new role as Staff Director. She is a seasoned professional with experience on the Hill, at the Treasury Department, and in the private sector. I am confident she is the right person for the job as we continue our efforts to reform the broken budget process and get our nation’s fiscal house in order.”
